Souldiers' Apparall

We produce a variety of clothing for ordinary men and soldiers.  Remember, at this time a man's outfit would consist of a shirt, stockings, breeches and  a doublet (or sometimes a singlet) which performed the essential function of holding his breeches up with points or hooks.

For soldiers, a coat, sometimes in a Regimental colour but mostly a non-descript russet, would be added.  Working men would wear a very similar coat in colder weather.

The fabrics we use are all natural and more often than not in "sadde" colours - wools and linens will be browns, greys, greens, blues, naturals.

Girdlesteads

As the function of the doublet or singlet is to hold up the breeches, we are able to fit a Girdlestead to the above garments.  This consists of a linen/canvas band stitched to the inside at waist-level, with six hand-sewn eyelets.  Six iron or brass hooks are attached to the waistband of the breeches.  You simply hook yourself up, just like they did back in the day, and you never have to suffer from Droopy Re-enactor Trouser Syndrome again!

£30  fitted to Doublet or Singlet, includes hooks which will be fitted to breeches  purchased from us, otherwise supplied loose to fit yourself.
